Who will be crowned the winner of the Virtuous Municipalities Award 2024?

The 18th Edition of the Virtuous Municipalities Award

This year, organized by the Virtuous Municipalities Association, under the patronage of the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security, ISPRA, Authentic Villages of Italy, and AMODO (Alliance for Soft Mobility), the initiative marks the 18th edition of the award.

A total of 72 finalist municipalities have been selected for their innovative and sustainable initiatives. A distinguished jury of members of the association’s Steering Committee will choose the overall winner.

Some of the finalist municipalities include: Città di Castello (PG), Bologna, Ragusa, Florence, Spoleto (PG), Mesagne (BR), and many others, all exemplifying virtuous models for the entire country.

Award Ceremony in Carmignano (PO)

The award ceremony will take place on Saturday, December 14, 2024, in Carmignano (PO), the winning municipality of the 2023 edition. The event will include the conference “From Bio-Districts to Zero-Kilometer Canteens: The Sustainable Journey of Virtuous Communities,” followed by a guided tour of the area’s exemplary practices.

The Mayor of Carmignano, Edoardo Prestanti, expressed his enthusiasm:

“This will be a moment of pride and visibility for our territory. We will host numerous administrators from across Italy—a valuable opportunity to share ideas and promote good governance.”
